Getting Started
Navigating the Database
On the left side of the screen is a black, vertical menu bar. By clicking on any of the navigational links there, you can navigate your way around GrantSelect. On the Welcome screen, you will see the latest news about GrantSelect as well as a comprehensive list of websites of funding sources. When navigating in the database, you can always come back to this list by clicking "Home" in the menu bar.
Searching GrantSelect
In the menu bar, click on "Search" to get to the Search screen. Enter a keyword, geographic location, and/or subject heading(s). If at anytime you are unsure as to what the field means, click on the field name for an explanation. Click on the Search button when you have completed entering information in the fields. (HINT: Entering more keywords and subject headings will narrow your search and yield fewer results. Entering fewer keywords and subject headings will broaden your search and yield a greater number of results.)
To choose multiple Subject headings, hold down the CTRL key (Apple 
key for Mac users) while picking your selections from the list. To quickly navigate through the list, type the first letter of the subject to move to that letter on the list.
Advanced Searches
From the Search screen, click on "Show More Options" next to the Clear Form button. The Advanced Search gives you more options and more specific criteria to search with: Program Type, Sponsor Type, Title of Grant, Deadline, etc.
Search Results
Click on any of the listings to view the grant information. Each record will list the title of the grant, a description, requirements, deadline, amount, geographic restrictions, website URL (if available), contact information, and more. To return to your search results, simply click on the Back button for your browser.
